The successful candidate will be provided with relevant workplace skills and experience in order to prepare for the job market. The development and training areas will include, but not limited to the below;
● Identifying workplace exposures / hazards and risks ● Develop, implement and maintain H&S policies, procedures, specification and manual ● Put controls in place to eliminate and minimize H&S exposures and risks. ● Research, investigate and draft H&S reports and proposals for Management consideration ● Providing input during the planning of infrastructural development processes. ● Liaise with H&S internal and external stakeholders with regard to H&S requirements ● Assist to record and manage all incidents ● Assist to monitor, analyse and report H&S performance indicators ● Assist with undertaking fire and emergency drills ● Assist to review and approve Safety files and plans. ● Assist with the review of risk assessments. ● Assist with the updating of legal register ● Conduct compliance inspections ● Provide administrative support to the workplace SHE Committee
● Grade 12 ●Degree/Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety Management / Science or or related field of study.
Unemployed, no relevant workplace experience needed. Must be between ages of 20 and 35. Must not have done any internship before. Duration: 24 Months.
Knowledge and Skills
●Knowledge of relevant H&S laws (OHSA and regulations) and municipal H&S by-laws ●Knowledge of South African environment issues and challenges ●Verbal and written communication skills ●Research and report writing skills ●Competent in MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) ● Ability to work independently ● Code 8 Drivers Licence would be beneficial but not essential.
